I believe it means that the person takes the stairs rather than the elevator. Not entirely sure though!

The device here is the pun since taking the stairs is only the other option from taking the elevator. Stairs are composed of steps, therefore it is a pun. Ignore what the other person said.

Alina [70]

Answer: My most embarrassing moment! It couldn't have been worse! When I was in high school, I had a huge crush on Jane. She was smart, fun and beautiful inside out! It happened one rainy day just after I_. Jane, who was my crush told me that she was alone and asked if I could wait forher. I was thrilled of course! So, after I got a little impatient., I called her up. At first I wasn't sure if I was correct. However I checked the number, which was a little bit early so, I waited, I waited some more. Because the rain was pouring heavily I was now socked wet.My new clothes, which my mom bought for me, were ruined. I looked like a hobo who was.out in the rain. Just when I was about to text her, Jane answered,'' I hope.that you will forgive.me.'' she said as she took a picture of me and then ran away with my umbrella. It.was at that.moment that I felt so sad and embarrassed

Select the correct answer.
bulgar [2K]

Answer:

B. He criticizes American fashions by negatively comparing them with older English styles.

Explanation:

This question refers to the article "The inglish renaissance art" written by Oscar Wilde, where the author makes a specific criticism about the female fashion pattern used by American women. Wilde did not sympathize with the American clothing style and disparaged the clothing of these women by comparing them with the clothing styles used in Europe, which he finds most beautiful, elegant, classy and sophisticated, while American dresses lacked any of these characteristics.
