Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

James says that if a prime number is doubled that the new number is prime state...

...Give an example that proves the conjecture or a counter example.

Chose any prime number and double.

2, 3, 5, 7...

2 * 2 = 4 which is not a prime number

3 * 2 = 6 which is not a prime number

Etc.

Why?

Any prime number multiplied by an even number (as it is doubled), will result in an even number. Therefore, none of the results will be odd and can't be prime - there are no even prime numbers except 2.

what is the volume of a rectangular prism that has a length of 8.5 centimeters (cm), a width of 3.2 centimeters, and a height of
Yuki888 [10]

Answer:

The volume of the rectangular prism is 163.2cm^3

Step-by-step explanation:

A rectangular prism is in the shape of cuboid which has three dimensions i.e Length, width and height.

Given: Length =8.5 cm width= 3.2 cm  and Height= 6 cm

The volume of a Cuboid = Length*Width*Height

Applying the given dimensions in the formula:

          The volume of a Cuboid=  8.5cm*3.2cm*6cm

                                               =  163.2cm^3

The volume of the rectangular prism is 163.2cm^3

Answer:

I think your forgot to add some parts of this question, because you can't do anything with this except simplify it down a little maybe. But, I will provide the simplified version of this.

\frac{x-4}{x^2-2x}+\frac{4}{x^2-4}

= \frac{x-4}{x\left(x-2\right)}+\frac{4}{x^2-4}

= \frac{x-4}{x\left(x-2\right)}+\frac{4}{\left(x+2\right)\left(x-2\right)}

= \frac{\left(x-4\right)\left(x+2\right)}{x\left(x-2\right)\left(x+2\right)}+\frac{4x}{\left(x+2\right)\left(x-2\right)x}

= \frac{\left(x-4\right)\left(x+2\right)+4x}{x\left(x-2\right)\left(x+2\right)}

= \frac{x+4}{x\left(x+2\right)}

Step-by-step explanation:

Hope this helped!
