A pollitical map focuses on boundaries between entities like countries states of counties they are generally brigther colors to easly distinguish the boundaries a phisical maps focuses on the geography of the area and will often have shaded relief to show the mountains and valleys.

Both these type of maps have a common characteristic, that is they commonly use colors to show the regional as well as the political boundaries. Color is one of the main factor used here. In addition to this, the shape of the entire landmass on earth are also the same. The shape of the these landforms are not affected.
