The number of female diploid cells would be required four times more than the number of male diploid cells to produce a certain amount of sperm and egg.

Explanation:

In humans, the female diploid cells undergo meiosis to form the ovum or the egg. Each female diploid cell is capable of producing an egg cell and two polar bodies.

In males, each diploid male cell can undergo meiosis and produce four sperm cells. So, a male diploid cell will produce 4 times gametes than the female diploid cells.
