Verbal and nonverbal cues can give us as human beings many different subtle cues as to what's going on in social situations. For example, certain nonverbal cues such as yawning, stretching, dreary eyes, and a hunched over body position can cue a person in rather quickly that this person is probably overtired. Furrowed eyebrows or extended staring at a specific object, or situation can help us infer that someone is perplexed. A hurried gesture, with sweeping movements of the hand towards the body implies that they want you to come towards them quickly.
Verbal cues are more obvious as thy state points more clearly, but both are efctive tools in language that we often overlook.

What effect do the deaths of Romeo and Juliet have on the fued between the families?
lianna [129]
The feud between the Montagues and the Capulets is the cause of Romeo and Juliet's deaths, and probably their romance as well. If there were no feud, the two families would have moved in the same circles, and Romeo and Juliet would have known each other all their lives.

Verizon [17]
If earth was not a connecting system then the heat from its interior wouldn’t have effect on the tectonic plate at all. The heat from the interior causes the tectonic plates to shift, which effects the oceans sea floor and does cause volcanos to be created.

In "My Name," the line "My name is the Mexican records my father plays on Sunday
Lelechka [254]

The correct answer is Metaphor

Explanation:

In the line presented, the author Sandra Cisneros is comparing her name to the Mexican records her father listens; this is likely because her name has an important Mexican influence. Moreover, in terms of figurative or literary devices, this is known as a metaphor because the author is trying to explain the meaning of her name through a comparison between the name and the records. Also, this is not a simile because there is not an explicit word for comparison such as "like", or personification because there are not objects, places, etc. that had been given human traits.
