If you observe carefully, you can see that the graph is crossing x-axis at the points 1 and 9. This means x = 1 and x = 9 are the roots of the polynomials and x - 1 and x - 9 are thus the factors of the polynomial.

We can express the polynomial as the product of its factors. So the above polynomial can be expressed as (x - 1)(x - 9)

Thus, the answer to the question is option D

There are 48 skittles in a bag but 12 are red.What percentage are NOT red skittles
IgorLugansk [536]

75% of the skittles are not red.

This is figured out by dividing 12 by 48. So you get .25 (25%) of the skittles are red, yeah? After that, you just subtract 25 from 100, and boom! 75% of the skittles are not red.

Im not sure how to find the missing angle
LuckyWell [14K]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

the question is asking for the length of the side labeled x

use Pythagoras' theorem to find that side

where c = x because c represents the hypotenuse in the theorem and x is on the hypotenuse in this problem

c = \sqrt{a^{2} + b^{2} }

sooo plug in a = 14 and b = 10

c = \sqrt{14^{2} + 10^{2} }

c = \sqrt{196+100}

c = \sqrt{296}

c= 17.20465..... ( that's the approx. length of side x in the problem )

since this is a right triangle we could use trigonometry to find the two angles use SOH CAH TOA to remember how those functions fit on the triangle.

Sin(Ф)=Opp/Hyp Cos(Ф)=Adj/Hyp Tan(Ф)=Opp/Adj

since we know the Hyp (hypotenuse) and the side adjacent will be the side with the 10 soooo...

Cos(Ф)=10/17.20465

Ф = arcCos(10/17.20465)

Ф = 54.4623° is the angle on the side with 10

the side with 14 then has an angle of 35.5376°

(12) (13) Geometry

Check Ans

12) x = 5 y = 2
13 x = 12 y = 13/3
brilliants [131]
Problem 12)

You are correct. You solve the system
x+1 = 3y
3x-4 = 5y+1
for x and y to find that x = 5 and y = 2

As a check
x+1 = 3y
5+1 = 3*2
6 = 6 ... true equation
and
3x-4 = 5y+1
3*5-4 = 5*2+1
11 = 11 ... true equation
Both equations are true when (x,y) = (5,2) so the answer is confirmed

Problem 13)

Unfortunately the diagram is cut off so its impossible to say at the moment. Please repost this one. Thank you.
