One of Truman's most important policies was the Truman Doctrine.

The Truman Doctrine was a foreign policy of president Harry Truman in which he tried to stop the power/influence of the Soviet Union. After World War II, Truman was worried that if nations located near the Soviet Union did not receive financial help, they would fall into the hands of the communist system. At this time, Truman wanted to make sure that he stopped the spread of communism in any way possible.

To do this, Truman asked Congress to provide $400 million to countries like Greece and Turkey. These were two main targets of US help, as they were located close to the Soviet Union. Ultimately, this money would help to stabilize their economy and fend off communism.

Write a diary entry as a fictional character who has experienced world war 1
skelet666 [1.2K]
My Dear Love,

I wish not to spend another day without you. If only I had stayed. If I had never left you I would still be the happy man I used to be, but that is no longer with us. In his place is a man who longs to see a sunny day, where all he can hear is the bird sing and the crunch of the autumn leaves. He wishes he had the blessings of the man before him, but he is glad that the man before him had only had his this new man’s experiences once, on the day he died. The sounds of bullets wizzing by his ear are forever imprinted in this man’s memory. The image of a bloody bayonet coming out of a young boy’s chest is all that he can remember. He has no passion, it died when the man’s friend was blown apart by an artillery shell. And the shouting, the crying, the wailing from injured soldiers has become too much for this man to bare. Has it only been 3 months? It feels like 4 years have gone by since the man you once knew left. I pray that this war ends soon, for winter is coming. I couldn’t imagine having to bear with the winter horrors ride with the horrors I have already endured. The only good thing I can make up in my mind is that the snow will cover up the dead bodies, so I do not have to look upon them anymore. May you be at ease always, and may the memory of the man before me stay with you forever.

What is the most likely reason it was difficult to pass laws under the articles of confederation?
katen-ka-za [31]
The articles weakness was that they gave the federal government so little power that it couldn't keep the country united. The articles were abandoned for the constitution. The articles confederation did not give the federal government the power to tax. The articles of confederation did not have an executive branch in other words no president. The articles of confederation did not have a judicial branch to resolve disputes and set policy. It was very difficult to pass laws under the Articles of Confederation 9/13 of the states had to agree and almost impossible to revise the Articles the need every state to agree in order to make a change.
