The complete subject is the part of the sentence to which the verb refers, ie, who or what the sentence is talking about. In other words, the complete subject is the one who completed the action of the verb. The complete subject usually appears before the predicate, which is the direct order of the sentence. The questions who? what? made before the verb, facilitate the identification of the subject. In the sentence "The hungry bear searched for food at the campsite." the verb is the word "searched", so we can ask the question "who searched?" to find the complete subject. When we ask this question we will know that, according to the phrase, the one who searched food at camp was the hungry bear, so "the hungry bear" is the complete subject of that phrase.
