The family lets the servant girl go and instead hire a charwoman to deal with some difficult work twice a day. The family also sells ornaments and though about moving to a smaller apartment. As a result of the lack of money, the family has to work thankless jobs. <u>Even his sister finds a job as in sales</u>.
