Which of the following lists in the correct chronological order the creation of the following Chinese groups? A. United League,
Ad libitum [116K]

Answer: A. United League, GMD, CCP

Explanation:

Tongmenghui or The United League in English was founded in 1905 by Sun Yat-sen and others as a result of a merger between different Chinese revolutionary groups and was formed with the aim of ending the Chinese Empire and initiating a republican government that would be fairer on its people.

The Guomindang (GMD) or Kuomintang as it is popularly known, was the successor to the United League and was originally founded in 1912 by Sun Yat-sen but was dissolved the following year before being reformed in 1919. After being expelled from mainland China in 1949, they took over Taiwan and governed it as a single party state until 1986. They remain a strong opposition party there today.

The CCP or the Chinese Communist Party is the current governing and only main party in the People's Republic of China. Founded in 1921 by Chen Duxiu and Li Dazhao, they endured several hardships under the GMD but under the leadership of Mao Zedong finally won the Chinese Civil War in 1949 and expelled the GMD from mainland China.

what did phoenicians trade spread throughout the mediterranean region? I am in FCA. Sorry for the terrible quality photo
Lady bird [3.3K]

Answer:

A, E

Explanation:

The Phoenicians invented an alphabet of 22 characters denoting consonants. This alphabet then became the basis of the Greek, Latin, and Slavic alphabets. They radically improved shipbuilding, laid routes to the very ‘limits’ of the world known in their era, and even significantly extended these limits. In a sense, they became the first “globalizers" – they connected Europe, Asia and Africa with an all-pervasive web of trade routes.

Their method of building the fleet implied the introduction of certain standards, and, therefore, some system of measures and weights. These standards became common in the Mediterranean region. For example, the king of the Greek city of Argos - Fidon - introduced a unified system of measures of length and weight ("Fidon measures"), based on the Phoenician standards.

How did the issue of slavery affect the debate on representation at the Constitutional Convention?
solniwko [45]

Slavery was a hotly debated topic at the Constitutional Convention. On one hand, Southern states wanted slaves to count towards population. This would increase the amount of representatives the Southern states had in the House of Representatives.

On the other hand, the South did not want slaves to count towards the population because this would result in the Southern states paying more direct taxes to the federal government.

The North felt the opposite than the South. Nonetheless, this issue was solved by the 3/5ths Compromise. This compromise stated that every 5 slaves would count as 3 people towards a states population for both representation and taxation.
