If the body does not regulate its acid-base homeostasis, there can be an adverse effect on many vital organs.


the acid=base homeostasis is maintained by lungs, kidneys and buffer systems.

Acidosis - too much acid, fall in blood pH levels

Alkalosis - too much base, rise in blood pH levels.
