Jamie, John, and Jake are on the prom committee. They are responsible for blowing up the balloons for prom night. John can blowu

p a balloon every 15 seconds while it takes Jamie and Jake 20 seconds per balloon. If 1 out of 80 balloons are found to be defected after they are inflated, Identify the expression which represents the number of balloons inflated per hour.
A) 592.5x
B) 592.5 - 1/80x
C) 600x - 1/80

First, pass all the rate of inflation to ballons/hour

John: 1 b/15s * 3600 s/h = 240 b/h
Jamie: 1 b/20s * 3600 s/h = 180 b/h
Jake: 180 b/h

Then sum the rates to obtain the total rate

Total ballons per hour: 240 b/h + 180 b/h + 180b/h = 600 b/h

If it passes x hours the number of ballons inflated is 600*x

The number of ballon defective are 600*x/80

The number of ballons effectiveley inflated = 600x -600x/80 = 600x - 7.5x = 592.5x.

  1. SSS congruence theorem
  2. SAS congruence theorem
  3. ASA congruence theorem
  4. AAS congruence theorem
  5. HL congruence theorem

================================

Explanation:

  1. SSS stands for "Side side side" indicating there are 3 pairs of sides that are same length. Visually we use tickmarks to show how the sides pair up. Eg: sides that have 1 tickmark only are the same length. If we know that all 3 pairs of sides are congruent, then we have enough info to conclude the triangles are congruent.
  2. SAS means "side angle side". The angle is between the two sides. The sides in question are the ones with tickmarks to indicate how they pair up.
  3. We have two angles and a side between them. So we use ASA this time. It stands for "Angle side angle". This is slightly different from AAS.
  4. We'll use AAS here. The side is not between the two angles. So this is why AAS is different from ASA. Some books may call "AAS" as "SAA", but they're the same thing.
  5. HL stands for hypotenuse leg. This only applies to right triangles (since the hypotenuse is a special term for the longest side of a right triangle). The hypotenuse is always opposite the 90 degree angle. This is the only time when SSA will work. Otherwise, SSA is ambiguous and it is not a valid congruence theorem.

The number of roses (r) in a garden increases when the number of weeds (w) decreases. Write the correct equation for this scenar
arlik [135]
<span>Number of roses (r) in a garden increases when the number of weeds (w) decreases, this supports an inverse relationship between the two variables.
The formula is then therefore, r = k/w
Solve for constant first.
r = k/w
20 = k/10
200 = k

r=200/5
r=40 roses
40 roses when there are 5 weeds.
