Assuming you mean the military of the USA, in the 1920s the US military engaged in a series of military interventions called Banana Wars in order to keep the economic climate in the area friendly to American commercial interest. They were called Banana Wars because the main interest was from fruit companies. In the 1930s FDR's Good Neighbor Policy toned down American involvement in the area.

Which is something new that the government took responsibility for? This is during President Johnson's era (Great Society) Pleas
puteri [66]

The correct answer to this open question is the following.

Although the question does not provide options or a more specific reference, we can say that something new that the government took responsibility for during President Lyndon B. Jhonson's era was the combat to poverty in the United States and the help on medical assistance. That is why, two important components of his "Great Society" deal, was the creation of Medicare and Medicaid. that became law when Democrats approved those pieces of legislation in Congress (1964).

President Johnson also wanted to fight poverty in America, reduce criminality index, improve the environmental conditions in the country, and diminish the inequality in American society. Those goals were included in the Great Society.
