Answer:
The full question i believe is "Suddenly, Ollie was a freight train racing into the house". Is the underlined phrase a simile or metaphor"? My answer to this question is Metaphor.
Explanation:
Metaphor is a figurative language in which a thing is regarded as symbolic of something else. In this case 'was a freight train' is symbolic of something else. Metaphor has to do with applying a word or phrase to an object or an action that is not literally applicable.
When a Metaphor is used, the statement does not literally make sense, but then makes sense when the similarities between the two things becomes clear or when the individual understands the connection.
I would say the theme is that when a child grows up, what his/her circumstances are determines to a large degree how they will fare in life. In this case the girl was abandoned by her father and her mother couldn't look after her because she had to work so her daughter had to be brought up by relatives. Also, she is described as dark so perhaps dark skinned which would make her a target for racism if say in Canada or the US. Dr Gabor Mate, a medical doctor in the downtown eastside of Vancouver, BC Canada says that, for example, drug addicts have most often had a terrible upbringing so they have sought relief from the emotional and physical pain with narcotics. For example, one baby was kept in the dryer with a weight on the lid while his mom went to bars to pick up men.

Okay, I don't know your personal opinion or shows that you like, so I'll just write this for your essay.
To Cartoon Network,
I'm very distraught that you cancelled the show, Adventure Time, because I've been watching it for several years since I was younger. It's very nostalgic, and although I've grown out of cartoons and things, I'm close to this one.
I've watched it ever since I was around 3rd grade, and I fell in love with the show. The characters were likeable, it had a plot, and it had a sense of humor.
You should bring this back, because it's also one of the very few kids shows I've seen that have a lot of diversity, for example, two females characters are in a relationship, which teaches younger kids about LGBTQ+ and how it's not a bad thing.
In conclusion, this is a very good show, and I hate to see it gone. Please bring it back.
Sincerely, (Your name)
