What does grass likely symbolize in these lines from the poem? A child said What is the grass? fetching it to me with full hands

; How could I answer the child? I do not know what it is any more than he. I guess it must be the flag of my disposition, out of hopeful green stuff woven. (from "A child said, What is the grass" by Walt Whitman) undying curiosity helplessness an optimistic spirit precociousness

A child said What is the grass? fetching it to me with full hands;
How could I answer the child? I do not know what it is any more than he.

I guess it must be the flag of my disposition, out of hopeful green stuff woven.

Or I guess it is the handkerchief of the Lord,
A scented gift and remembrancer designedly dropt,
Bearing the owner's name someway in the corners, that we may see and remark, and say Whose?

im sorry i am so late to this, cant believe nobody has answered this easy question! probably katniss, because of all the people she inspired. in the beginning of the books she was seen as a weak looking girl who volunteered for her sister. but in the second and third books, you can see how much she is looked up to and idolized.
