he or she had inflicted on a victim. Such laws may seem harsh today, but they were intended to prevent society from descending into chaos and disorder.

Answer:

its just like the saying an eye for an eye

Explanation:

he wanted to set an example for the people saying "this is whats going to happen if you don't abide by the laws" so when people were seeing this happen they thought "wow probably shouldn't do that" thus keeping order within society. Or at least most of it. Fear controls people.

"And thus every man, by consenting with others to make one body politic under one government, puts himself under an obligation,
Fofino [41]

Answer:

D. Social Contract.

Explanation:

The above quote by John Locke from the Two Treatises on Government demonstrates the constitutional principle of a Social Contract. Through this quote, Locke advocates for an implicit government where all men consent to the majority for the good of all.

The social contract is by itself an agreement where individuals surrender parts of thier rights and obligations to the society to form a government. By this, an individual must respect and agree to what the majority of the people determines in the society. John Locke, Thomas Hobbes, and Jean-Jacques Rousseau were some important proponents of social contract theory.

At times, the mistake should be considered a good return, because even the best investors are also wrong and learn from it.
