The greatest compliment that Napoleon Chagnon ever received from the Yanomamo is that he is almost a human now. Chagnon was known as the most controversial anthropologist in the United States.
Yanomamo is the remote group who live between the border of Valenzuela and Brazil. Chagnon has studied most of his life on the group of Yanomamo and defend a thesis that Yanomami is fierce and warriors.

He is best known for his work in the field of Ethography which he carried in Yanomamo. Yanomamo was an indigenous tribal of Amazonian people. He used his study as an evolutionary approach because he wanted to understand the social behaviour of these tribal. His work mostly focused on the analysis which he gave in regards to violences among the tribal people and using his social-biological analysis, he came to a conclusion that this violence among people of Yanomamo happens because of an evolutionary process and in this process the successful warriors have more offspring.<u> He is also admired by his followers as they described him as the pioneer of scientific anthropology. </u>He was also called as one of the most controversial anthropologist in United States. Along with the admirers, Chagnon also had to face some critiques as his work on Yanomamo was widely critiqued. <u>But the greatest admiration that Napoleon Chagnon got was from people of Yanomamo as they complimented him saying that, ‘He was almost a Human Now’.  </u>
