Based on this excerpt, from the poem "Mending Wall", by Robert Frost, the option that best describes the effect of the metaphor on the overall meaning in this excerpt is B. It gives apple trees the qualities of grazing animals to emphasize that the wall is unnecessary.

The narrator's neighbor repeats his father's words and traditions 'Good fences make good neighbors'. He thinks that mending the wall is being practical and doesn't want to hear the narrator's opinion against its utility. The narrator uses metaphors to describe his apple trees as grazing animals, which they are not.

I think B would fit. Im not 100 percent sure, but B shows that the wall is not needed and it clearly states that in the poem hope this helped!

Choose a subordinating conjunction to form complex sentence whereas although while as since after He was going to a birthday par
Travka [436]

Answer:

whereas

Explanation:

The coordinating conjunctions join two parts of sentences. In this case, the conjunction shows the relationship between two sentences. In this case, we have two sentences or clauses:

 • He was going to a birthday party.
 • He wanted to bake a cake

So, the conjunction would effectively combine the two sentences here. The correct conjunction to use is whereas. This how the two events would occur at the same time.
