Write a related multiplication sentence that could help you find the quotient of 6 divided by one fourth

Mathematics
1 answer:
castortr0y [4]3 years ago
6 0

Answer:

6 ÷ \frac{1}{4} = 6x4 = 24

Step-by-step explanation:

We start with 6 ÷ \frac{1}{4}  (Note that one fourth = 1/4)

Next, we use the fact the dividing by a fraction is the same as multiplying by it's reciprocal (so i.e. the reciprocal of 1/4 is 4/1 = 4), so we get:

6 ÷ \frac{1}{4} = 6x4 = 24 .

Hiya!

So, 6 billion is 100%. 50% is 3 billion. 25% is 1.5 billion. 20% must be 1.2 billion because 1.2 × 5 is 6. I know that 20% is 1/5 of 100%, and that's how I got my answer.

If you found this especially helpful, I'd appreciate if you'd vote me Brainliest for your answer, if other people did not provide a helpful answer (but, I'm sure they did!). I want to be able to assist more users one-on-one! :)

A retailer buys TV's fro $175 and marks them up 225%, what is the new cost
jonny [76]

Answer:

   $568.75

Step-by-step explanation:

To find the markup, we multiply the original price by the percentage of markup

Markup = 175 * 225%

             =175 * 2.25

              =393.75

The new price is the markup  plus the original price

New price = markup+ original price

                  =393.7+175

                   =568.75
