Answer:

(a).\ Two\ triangles\ are\ similar\\\\(b).\ Width\ of\ river\approx 145.5\ ft

Step-by-step explanation:

(a): <u><em>Similar Triangles(AA):</em></u> If two angles of a triangle is equal to corresponding two angles of other triangle. The two triangles are similar.

In\ the\ \triangle ABC\ and\ \triangle EDC\\\\\angle DCE=\angle BCA\ \ \ \ \ (opposite\ angles)\\\\\angle CDE=\angle CBA\ \ \ \ \ (Right\ angles)\\\\Hence\ By\ AA\ Theorem\ These\ two\ triangles\ are\ similar

(b):

\triangle ABC\ and\ \triangle EDC\ are\ similar\\\\\frac{AB}{DE}=\frac{BC}{CD}\\\\BC=100\ ft,\ CD=22\ ft,\ DE=32\ ft\\\\\frac{AB}{32}=\frac{100}{22}\\\\AB=\frac{100}{22}\times 32\ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ Multiplying\ both\ sides\ by\ 32\\\\AB=\frac{3200}{22}\\\\AB=145.45\ ft\approx 145.5\ ft

Find Sn for the arithmetic series 5+7+9 + … and determine the value of n for which the series has sum 165.
SVETLANKA909090 [29]

Answer:

see explanation

Step-by-step explanation:

the sum to n terms of an arithmetic sequence is

S_{n} = \frac{n}{2}[2a + (n - 1)d ]

where d is the common difference and a is the first term

here d = 9 - 7 = 7 - 5 = 2 and a = 5, hence

S_{n} = \frac{n}{2}[(2 × 5) + 2(n - 1) ]

                        = \frac{n}{2}(10 + 2n - 2)

                        = \frac{n}{2}(2n + 8)

                        = n² + 4n

When sum = 165, then

n² + 4n = 165 ← rearrange into standard form

n² + 4n - 165 = 0 ← in standard form

(n + 15)(n - 11) = 0 ← in factored form

equate each factor to zero and solve for n

n + 15 = 0 ⇒ n = - 15

n - 11 = 0 ⇒ n = 11

but n > 0 ⇒ n = 11

F sin Θ = 5/6 , what are the values of cos Θ and tan Θ?
strojnjashka [21]
We can use inverse sin to calculate the angle, and we get around 56 degrees (but for the answer I'll give the most accurate one). For cos we get around 55, and for tan we get .25.

I might have done tan wrong but I hope you get the point.
