And in photosynthesis, chlorophyll absorbs sun light and convert in into energy and this energy then transforms water and carbon dioxide into oxygen and carbohydrates.

Chlorophylls  are of various types, some chlorophyll can be involved in the process of photosynthesis in plants and some others in algae.
