Ok, there are some tips on how to make the ending of your story into a twist.
1. Putting in some suspenseful or exciting, adjectives.
2. Maybe change the original plot of the story. ( Example: by changing the villain or who ends up saving the day in the end ).

Sentences are composed of subjects and predicates. The subject is the "doer" in a sentence, or what the sentence is about. A simple predicate is simply the main verb. Each sentence must have a main verb, and the easiest way to find it is to look for a word that shows action.
I believe D is your answer because of how Sophie must confront her employer to get a raise. A raise was not offered to her regardless of her experience, increase in responsibilities. or expertise so I think D would make the most sense in this scenario. (I'm not completely sure but pretty confident)
