QUESTION 1

a) The zeros of the function are the x-values at which the graph touches the x-axis.

From the graph, the zeros are;

x=0,x=-4

b) The axis of symmetry is the vertical line that goes through the vertex of the parabola.

x=-2

c) The maximum value is the y-value of the vertex.

Max: y=4

d) The vertex is the maximum point on the graph.

Vertex: (-2,4).

QUESTION 2

a) The graph touches the x-axis at only one point.

From the graph, the zero is x=-2

b) The axis of symmetry is the vertical line that goes through the vertex of the parabola.

x=-2

c) The minimum value is the y-value of the vertex.

Min: y=0

d) The vertex is the minimum point on the graph.

Vertex: (-2,0).

QUESTION 3

a) The graph touches the x-axis at two points.

From the graph, the zeros are x=-3,x=3

b) The axis of symmetry is the vertical line that goes through the vertex of the parabola.

x=0

c) The minimum value is the y-value of the vertex.

Min: y=-9

d) The vertex is the minimum point on the graph.

Vertex: (0,-9).

QUESTION 4

a) The zeros of the function are the x-values at which the graph touches the x-axis.

From the graph, the zeros are;

x=-3,x=-5

b) The axis of symmetry is the vertical line that goes through the vertex of the parabola.

x=-4

c) The maximum value is the y-value of the vertex.

Max: y=1

d) The vertex is the maximum point on the graph.

Vertex: (-4,1).

QUESTION 5

a) The graph touches the x-axis at two points.

From the graph, the zeros are x=3,x=7

b) The axis of symmetry is the vertical line that goes through the vertex of the parabola.

x=5

c) The minimum value is the y-value of the vertex.

Min: y=-4

d) The vertex is the minimum point on the graph.

Vertex: (5,-4).

QUESTION 6

a) The graph does not touch the x-axis.

The function has no real zeros.

b) The axis of symmetry is the vertical line that goes through the vertex of the parabola.

x=2

c) The minimum value is the y-value of the vertex.

Min: y=5

d) The vertex is the minimum point on the graph.

Vertex: (2,5).

QUESTION 7

a) The graph touches the x-axis two points.

The function has zeros at x=1 and x=5

b) The axis of symmetry is the vertical line that goes through the vertex of the parabola.

x=3

c) The minimum value is the y-value of the vertex.

Min: y=-4

d) The vertex is the minimum point on the graph.

Vertex: (3,-4).

QUESTION 8

a) The zeros of the function are the x-values at which the graph touches the x-axis.

From the graph, the zeros are;

x=0,x=-2

b) The axis of symmetry is the vertical line that goes through the vertex of the parabola.

x=-1

c) The maximum value is the y-value of the vertex.

Max: y=1

d) The vertex is the maximum point on the graph.

Vertex: (-1,1).

QUESTION 9

a) The graph touches the x-axis at only one point.

From the graph, the zero is x=5

b) The axis of symmetry is the vertical line that goes through the vertex of the parabola.

x=5

c) The minimum value is the y-value of the vertex.

2x^4=-128x I did the problem but im getting the wrong answer.
never [62]
You have to have the same base numbers

2^4x = 2^7x
now you can cancel out the 2s and set the powers equal to each other.

4x= 7x
-11x = 0
x = 0???

im not 100% sure but i think this is what you do
