The UK Labor Party is a center-left social democratic political party in the United Kingdom. It was founded in 1900. It is one of the three main parties in the country. Under Tony Blair's leadership, he won the 1997 general election and has since formed the first Labor government since 1979. In 2001, he retained his position in government. In April 2010, the party leader was Gordon Brown, who, after the May 6 general election, resigned. Labor today remains the largest party in the opposition bloc.
