14 + 3n = 8n - 3(n - 4)

I feel like the easiest way to find out how many solutions it has is to simply solve the equation.

So, simplify the equation.

14 + 3n = 8n - 3n + 12

Combine like terms.

14 + 3n = 5n + 12

Subtract 14 from both sides.

3n = 5n + 12 - 14

Subtract 5n from both sides.

3n - 5n = 12 - 14

Simplify.

-2n = -2

Divide both sides by -2.

n = 1

Therefore there is only one solution to this problem.

there are multiple chickens and rabbits in a cage. There are 72 heads and 200 feet inside the cage. How many chickens are in the
astra-53 [7]
Chicken have 2 legs. Rabbits have 4 legs. Let the number of chicken be x and the number of rabbits be y. Then we have the following equations: x + y = 72 (the total number of animals in the cage) and 2x + 4y = 200 (the total number of legs in the cage). In the first equation we express x relative to y and get that x = 72 - y. Then we replace it in the second equation and get 2*(72 - y) + 4y = 200 <=> 144 + 2y = 200 <=> y = 56/2 <=> y = 28. And since x = 72 - y we get that x = 44. So in total we have 44 chicken and 28 rabbits.

What does a rhombus look like
Elanso [62]
A rhombus is a four-sided shape where all four sides are equal length. A square is an example of a rhombus, but not all rhombuses are squares, since if you squish two of the corners inward on the square so that it's more long and skinny diagonally, then it's still a rhombus as long as the sides are of the same length.
Hope that helped =)

What’s the area? Please help!!
vampirchik [111]
We can find the area of each shape separately
The area of the triangle can be found by A = 1/2bh
So the area will be 1/2 times (6+14+6= 26) 26 times 21
The area of the triangle will be 273 ft^2
The area of the square will be A=lxh
So the area will be 14 times 14
So the area of the square will be 196 ft ^2
We then add the area of both shapes together to get the total area
273 + 196 = 469 ft^2
