Greetings!

Answer:

\frac{1}{6}

Step-by-step explanation:

If the total data set is 36 students, and you need to find out the probability that the randomly selected student studies both art and biology, you need to find the ratio:

Every 36 students there is 6

36 : 6

Divide both sides by 6:

6 : 1

So that means the probability is:

\frac{1}{6} or 1.16 recurring

Plz help geometry question!
Alexus [3.1K]

Step-by-step explanation:

let eqn be y = mx + b.

m = (5 - (-16))/(1 - 8) = -3

sub (1, 5):

5 = -3(1) + b

b = 8

therefore it's y = -3x + 8

Bert and Ernie are looking at their paper clip collections. Bert has 5 paper clips for every 3 paper clips that Ernie has. If Be
iVinArrow [24]

Answer:

He has 60 paper clips before giving some away.

Step-by-step explanation:

Before : 5x : 3x

After:  5x - 12 = 3x + 12

5x -  12 = 3x + 12

First, we need to take away the smallest value of x from the largest.

-3x

2x - 12 = 12

Then, we need to add +12 to get rid of -12 on the lefthand side.

2x = 24

Divide by 2 to get x on its own.

x = 12

Bert had 5x so we need to multiply x (what we found as 12) by 5. 12 x 5 = 60. Bert had 60 paper clips before he gave some away.

We can prove this answer as correct, too.

5 x 12 = 60

3 x 12 = 36

60 - 12 = 36 + 12

48 = 48

Hope this helps, have a good day. :D

Describe a real-life situation in which you need to know a slope.
Alla [95]

Answer:

You are solving for the incline of the slope of the mountain to find out what kind of equipment you bring. You find that part of the mountain has a slope of 1, which meant you had to bring pickaxes, ropes, and other vertical climbing gears. On the other side, you see that the slope is only 1/3. This is much more easier to climb, and seems to be the better option of the two.

Solve the system of equation below using any method.
3x-2y=30
2x+3y=-19
Andrews [41]
{ 3 x - 2 y = 30       * ( 2 )
   2 x + 3y = - 19   *  ( -3 )

         ↓

  6 x - 4 y = 60
- 6x  - 9  y = 57
______________
         -13 y = 117

               y = 117 / - 13

              y = - 9

For x :

3 x - 2y = 30

3 x - 2 ( -9) = 30

3 x  + 18 = 30

3 x = 30 - 18

3 x = 12

x = 12 / 3

x = 4

x = 4 and y = -9

hope this helps!
