Read the passage.
Ludmilka [50]
<span>the power of nature

In the passage the speaker talks about how the ground swells due to the water in the soil freezing. It is so strong that it lifts the boulders and breaks apart the wall. The speaker's use of the word "something" and the description of how the ground, or nature, destroys the wall each year emphasizes the power of nature.
The other choices can be eliminated because the stones don't actually break - they're just relocated. Also, there is no mention of a person in this section of the poem at all.

What is Mrs. Baroda's impression of Gouvernail after meeting him for the first time?
balu736 [363]

Indeed, Mrs. Baroda, whilst bemused that Gouvernail is not tall, cynical, nor slim, she finds herself attracted to him.

As the story in A Respectable Woman by Kate Chopin unfolds, we find that although he does not in any way intend for this to happen, Gouvernail seems to elicit likeness from his friend's wife.

At some point, she tells her husband Mr. Gaston Broda that she must travel to go stay with her aunt in the city. She actually does because it has become clear to her that she has developed a likeness for a man other than her husband.

She goes to the city to overcome this oddity because she is a respectable woman.

The correct answer, therefore, is A.
