During his reign, the kingdom united with harmony and the construction of Angkor Wat as temple began under Suryavarman II. The temple devoted to Lord Vishnu (Hindu God). The climate of Cambodia is tropical with rainfall and humidity. According to Hindu mythology, the temple surrounded by a large moat to give a copy of gods living on Mount Meru, surrounded by an ocean.
