Explanation:

America's Declaration of Independence from Britain was drafted by Thomas Jefferson in June 1776. The document was later revised by the primary author himself, the rest of the members of the committee appointed for such a task and the Continental Congress. On July 2nd, the document was voted on by the Congress and two days later the final document was approved and adopted by the 13 colonies, this is why the Independence Day is celebrated on the 4th of July every year since that year.
