In response to the rebellion, the king issued the proclamation line of 1763, which prohibited colonists from settling west of th

e appalachians. those colonials who had already moved would have to relocate, and only licensed trappers and traders could enter the region. the government created the proclamation as a stalling tactic to give itself time to reorganize, but it angered the colonials who saw it as unnecessary. the increased population, due to new settlers and birth, had made free land scarce, and most colonials believed the proclamation showed a lack of british sympathy for their plight. besides, the colonists argued, they had earned the land fighting during the war, and the natives could be conquered.

The cultural assimilation of Native Americans was an assimilation effort by the United States to transform Native American culture to European–American culture between the years of 1790 and 1920.George Washington and Henry Knox were first to propose, in an American context, the cultural transformation of Native Americans. They formulated a policy to encourage the civilizing process, with increased waves of immigration from Europe, there was growing public support for education to encourage a standard set of cultural values and practices to be held in common by the majority of citizens. Education was viewed as the primary method in the acculturation process for minorities.

Why was the Freedmen’s Bureau established?
Allisa [31]

Answer:

\boxed {\boxed {\sf A. \ To \ provide \ freedmen \ with \ healthcare \ and \ education}}

Explanation:

After the Civil War and 13th Amendment, slavery was abolished from the United States. This left 4 million former slaves or freedmen to fend for themselves while looking for jobs, homes, and educations during the period of Reconstruction.

The Freedmen's Bureau was created by the government to help the freedmen transition. They helped tons of former slaves through meals, healthcare, labor contracts, and the building/funding of schools and colleges.

They attempted to redistribute land (choice C) but most efforts were unsuccessful and it wasn't the main purpose. It was not created for suffrage (choice B) or to help prospective politicians (choice D). This leaves choice A as the best answer.
