Why might two elements possess similar chemical properties
RSB [31]
One of the reasons can be because their atoms have the same outermost shell electrons.

For example in elements fluorine and Chlorine, they both have 7 outermost shell electrons. We can know this because they're in the same group in the periodic table, which is group VII. Both of these elements have similar chemical properties, such as they both react with sodium to produce metal halides, which is a kind of salt.

However, note that their chemical properties will not be exactly the same, as they have different number of protons which distinguishs between different elements.

How does farming affect biodiversity? Farming requires space, so it primarily contributes to _________ . Also, fertilizers used
jenyasd209 [6]
A. Habitat loss
Because by farming the land, species living within the environment loose areas to live in which decreases biodiversity.

B. Eutrophication
Because when using lots of fertilizer, it will eventually lead to run off during rain and the fertilizer will end up in the lakes which affects the biodiversity there. And to define eutrophication, it's basically just the increase of nutrients in lakes or a body of water. This can lead to overgrowth of aquatic plants and they will take up more oxygen and release carbon dioxide which will end up suffocating the aquatic animals living within the water

A plate moves 200m in 10,000 years. what is the rate in cm/year
algol13

Answer:

Rate = 2 cm/year

Explanation:

It is given that, a plate moves 200m in 10,000 years. We need to find its rate in cm/year.

We know that, 1 m = 100 cm

200 m = 200 × 100 cm

= 20000 cm

Its rate is given by :

R=\dfrac{20000}{10,000}\\\\R=2\ cm/year

So, the plate is moving at a rate of 2 cm/year.

The status is  ''due to habitat loss caused by deforestation, and hunting by human poachers, the Bengal tiger is considered to be an endangered species.'' its is important to save the bengal tiger from exciction because So when a species goes extinct, it leaves behind a scar, which affects the entire ecosystem. Another reason why we need to save the tiger is that our forests are water catchment areas. ... The tiger is a unique animal which plays a pivotal role in the health and diversity of an ecosystem.
