Gradually the people have started to move away from the religion, and more and more have become atheists and agnostics, with the religious authorities also losing their power. This has slowly shifted the societies to become more secular and less religions, and the prime examples for this are European countries, as well as big portion of the developed countries around the world. The religion has remained strong only in the developing and less developed countries which are still not modernized properly.
