The number of daughter cells produced by meiosis is:

Biology

1. The primary function of meiosis is the reduction of the ploidy (number of chromosomes) of the gametes from diploid.

2. The process of reduction division in which the number of chromosomes per cell is cut in half through the separation of homologous chromosomes in a diploid cell that become haploid cells.

3. I'm not sure but; meiosis never really involves chromosome replication.

4.In meiosis, one cell divides twice in a row to form four daughter cells from one cell Those cells are then modified to become eggs or sperm.

5. An important part of gamete production is meiosis. In this process, diploid cells get the karate chop to turn them into haploid cells. Although sperm and egg production differ in many ways, meiosis is critical to both processes. ... The parent cell duplicates its chromosomes. Can someone pls help me
frozen [14]

Answer:

Explanation:

a. Since both the parents are carriers, they have one allele that is the gene for the normal trait and one gene that is for the sickle cell trait. So the genotypes of the parents are Hh

b.   If we use a punnett square:

                    H            h

         H       HH           Hh

         h        Hh           hh

Genotypic ratio: 1 HH: 2Hh: 1hh

Phenotypic ratio:      1 normal blood cell: 2 sickle cell carriers: 1 sickle cell disease

The endocrine system acts through chemical messengers called- -
3241004551 [841]

The best answer is D.

Hormones are chemical messengers  secreted mostly into blood and also extracellular fluid by specialized tissue of the endocrine system and affect the functioning of other tissues or cells.

Most hormones circulate in blood and come in contact with essentially all cells, but a particular hormone will only affect a limited number of cells, which are termed as target cells to that hormone.

A target cell responds to a particular  hormone because it bears receptors for that hormone.

For example the red blood cells have receptors for the  hormone called insulin which is produced by the pancreas. The red cells are able to take in glucose  when their receptors bind to insulin.
