The Dutch became a commercially powerful rival to Spain--Amsterdam soon became trade hub for all the Atlantic World. They distinguished themselves as commercial leaders in the seventeenth century, as their mode of colonization relied on powerful corporations: the Dutch East India Company, chartered in 1602 to trade in Asia, and the Dutch West India Company, established in 1621 to colonize and trade in the Americas.

How does the fourth principle, concerning liberty, connect to the idea that certain guaranteed freedoms in American life are lim
masha68 [24]

Liberty, in philosophy, involves free will as contrasted with determinism.[1] In politics, liberty consists of the social and political freedoms to which all community members are entitled. In theology, liberty is freedom from the effects of "sin, spiritual servitude, [or] worldly ties.

Generally, liberty is distinctly differentiated from freedom in that freedom is primarily, if not exclusively, the ability to do as one wills and what one has the power to do; whereas liberty concerns the absence of arbitrary restraints and takes into account the rights of all involved. As such, the exercise of liberty is subject to capability and limited by the rights of others.

Which physical feature would make it difficult for outsiders to attack a settlement in the Fertile Crescent?
andrezito [222]

The correct answer is - a-desert.

The Fertile Crescent was a place of significant development of civilizations and it was a place were farming was on an another level, and was due to the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers, but everything around the Fertile Crescent was desert, on all four sides. The desertous landscape was a big obstacle for any foreign force to be able to successfully launch a military campaign on the civilizations in here. In the period when the Fertile Crescent was one of the most prosperous regions in the world the militaries were still pretty immobile and slow which is equal to suicide if they tried to pass deserts and than go into war.
