Answer:

c. Major groove

Explanation:

The interaction surfaces of proteins are, in general, varied. From the point of view of the secondary structure, the surfaces of the proteins are formed by the surfaces of their α helices, β sheets and loops that conform them. The surfaces of the DNA molecules are less varied: the B-DNA helix has a monotonous “screw” shaped surface with phosphoribose ridges between which two grooves (major and minor) are formed. The difference between different nucleotide sequences can only be seen from outside in the major groove, where the bases appear. The surfaces of RNA molecules that possess tertiary structure (such as t-RNA) are almost as complex as that of proteins.

Since the major groove is the only site where the bases are accessible from outside the B-DNA without distorting it, the major groove constitutes the main recognition site. As the interaction between molecules is stronger if their surfaces are complementary, the protein-DNA interaction usually occurs by filling the major groove.

Which structure, If cut off, will hamper sexual reproduction in fungi?
Lisa [10]

Answer:

Fruiting body, If cut off, will hamper sexual reproduction in fungi.

Explanation:

Fungi are of unicellular, multinucleate, and multicellular. They can be classified based on their reproductive spores and their multinucleate or multicellular filaments nature that can be called as hyphae. The sporocarp that is also named as fruiting bodyor fruit body is a multicellular structure in which the spore-producing structures, like basidia or asci, are born.

The fungi consist of spores in the fruiting bodies, that are dispersed for reproduction process. Mushrooms common instance of a fruiting body. These are formed from hyphae, that are smaller threads that usually forms the bulk of fungi. The term mycelium that describes a hyphae network will be extending in all directions through the soil. Hence, when Fruiting body is cut off it will hamper sexual reproduction in fungi because there are many hyphae with which Fruiting body can be formed.

5.Write observation and conclusion of each of the following activities
Tomtit [17]

Answer:

Water puts pressure depends on their amount.

Explanation:

On the left side, there is less quantity of water in the tube that put less pressure on the bag present at the bottom and the bag swells slightly while on the other hand, on the right side, there is more amount of water in the tube that puts large pressure on the bag located at the bottom and as a result it swells higher than the other bag so we can conclude that more water puts more pressure and less water puts less pressure.

Explain the relationship between osmosis and aquaporins.
oksano4ka [1.4K]
The relationship between osmosis and aquaporins are usually found is some vital physiological functions like the water re-absorption in the kidney. It is even found in the secretion of the glands and airways. Also in the water hemeostatis in the brain. In this functions osmotic waters transports in aquaporins.
