Answer:

Option D. Out of all of the options available, courthouse affairs being conducted is the least likely event to be seen happening in market days.

Explanation:

Farmer's and other style of markets are usually open during the weekends, especially on Sundays. While it is likely to find farmers from the countryside selling their crops at the market, or even local housewives selling homemade goods, and people wearing typical European attires, what is not likely to see occurring during "market days" are courthouse affairs being conducted. This is due to the fact that most all courthouses operate from Monday to Friday, and most farmers' markets are open only during the weekend, therefore it is not likely for both to be operational during the same day.

Why did the Renaissance begin in northern Italy?
Andrei [34K]

Answer: The Renaissance was a rebirth of ancient Greek and Roman thinking and styles, and both the Roman and Greek civilizations were Mediterranean cultures, as is Italy. The best single reason for Italy as the birthplace of the Renaissance was the concentration of wealth, power, and intellect in the Church.

Explain:

One major reason the Renaissance began in Italy is linked to geography. The city-states of Italy,

positioned on the Mediterranean Sea, were centers for trade and commerce, the first port of call for

both goods and new ideas.

Secondly, Italy was the core of the former Roman empire, and, at the collapse of the Byzantine empire

in 1453, became the refuge for the intellectuals of Constantinople who brought with them many of the

great works of the ancient Greeks and Romans, works that had been lost to the West during the Dark

Ages. Prior to this, scholars in Italy had been examining the works of the ancients, but they were of poor

quality and often incomplete.

The third reason was political. Due to various political intrigues, the Holy Roman Empire had essentially

lost power in northern Italy, the papal states were governed by various leading families within each

region, and the city of Naples dominated the South. This vacuum of leadership allowed merchant

families to gain considerate power within each city-state and thus revised the laws governing banking,

commerce, shipping, and trade. This freer atmosphere led to a busy exchange of both goods and ideas.

One result of the invention of the. Was the increased speed of communication from one area to another far away.
erastovalidia [21]

Answer:

<h2>Telegraph</h2>

Explanation:

Telegraph is the answer I would suggest, as that was the first invention that greatly accelerated the speed of communication.  Following that came the telephone, and then after that, cell phones and  the Internet.  All of these communication tools have accelerated the rate and amount of global communication.  But the first step in that direction was the telegraph.

The telegraph was developed in the first part of the 19th century by Samuel Morse and other inventors.   Morse also developed a code (which has been named after him) for communicating messages via short and long   electronic signals over telegraph wires.   Morse sent his first telegraph message in 1844.  By 1866 telegraph lines had been laid across the Atlantic Ocean for communication between the USA and Europe.

As summarized by the <em>History Channel, "</em>The telegraph revolutionized long-distance communication. ... Although the telegraph had fallen out of widespread use by the start of the 21st century, replaced by the telephone, fax machine and Internet, it laid the groundwork for the communications revolution that led to those later innovations."
