So the first thing i'm going to point out is that usually you would use * to state multiplication instead of x because x is a common variable. Also, you said to use rounding but you didn't say what to round to.

8.24 * 5.88 = 48.4512  


now if we rounded them to the nearest whole number it would be 48.

but if you wanted it rounded to the nearest tenth or hundredth please specify next time.
