I believe knowing our History has been most vital in influencing our culture.

Explanation:

History is the core to which our values are built. History has helped enlighten us as regards our evolution as a set of people (be it white or black). History is that discipline that has helped expose us to great occurrences of life like; When we started? how we started? how we got to where we are today? Our way of life? What we eat? How we make what we eat? etc.

We can not exist as humans without knowing how we came about that is why keeping history is of utmost importance. Imagine not knowing why and how the US independence came about, there would not be a true value of the free nation (USA) that we all know today.

History is life! It's how we know our heritage. Our parents, their parents, their parents parents, and it keeps going back to the inception of life.

I end this by saying there would not be a today if we did not know about how yesterday went. Yesterday is History and it must be cherished for the generation to come to fully understand life!
