Business

LUCKY_DIMON [66]3 years ago

Answer:

Correct option is (c)

Explanation:

Principal amount of bond is also called face value of bond that is repaid in full at maturity. Bonds are issued for a fixed period called maturity period that could be 3 years, 5 years or 10 years. At the end of this period, Bond's face value that could be $100 or $1,000 is repaid fully. Repayment of principal amount is not dependent on frequency of coupon payment.

Coupon payments are paid annually or semi annually as the case may be. This is annual interest rate that is paid to the bond holder till maturity of bond. It is calculated on the face value. For example, 5% bond of face value $1,000 is issued. Semi annual coupon payment will be 0.025 × 1,000 = $25.

6) For the past few years your company has sold 50,000 units of goods each year at a selling price of $26/unit. Fixed production
lana66690 [7]

Answer:

Explanation:

Expected sales(S) -58000 units

Variable cost ( VC) = $9/unit

Fixed cost ( FC) =$ 300000

Sales price =$26/unit

a) Average total cost next year

ATC=(TFC+TVC)/number of units sold = TC/number of units sold

TFC-Total fixed cost; TVC - Total variable cost; TC-Total cost

TVC= 9×58000= 522000

TC=300000+522000=822000$

ATC= 822000/58000= 14.17$

b) Marginal contribution rate = contribution per unit of quantity sold

Contribution = SP-VC = = 26 - 9= $ 17

SP - Selling price; VC -Variable cost

marginal contribution is $17

C) Profit margin = Total sales - total cost

Total sales =  58000*26; Total cost = 58,000*14.17

PM= 1508000-821860 = $ 686140

d) Break even volume =( Fixed cost/profit volume ratio)

P/ v ratio =( Contribution /sales ) = 17/26

Break even volume = 300000/( 17/26)  = 458824$

VMariaS [17]

The main difference between service companies and retail or manufacturing companies is that retailers and manufacturers must account for;

  • Inventory and Cost of Goods

Inventory refers to the goods in stock which the business wishes to sell in order to make a profit from.

Retailers and manufacturers produce items that will be sold and these items need to be stocked somewhere till the need for them arises.

The same is not applicable to service companies because they do not have physical goods to sell.

Also, the cost of goods refers to the direct cost of producing goods. Since service companies do not produce goods, this is not accounted for.
