Answer: Passive voice

Explanation: The 'ed' at the end of the word gives away the fact that they are passive actions. A couple examples of that would be: They walked. She painted. He talked. Also 'was' is also a giveaway. 'Was' is a past tense word.

I might not call them stereotypes, though they are quite simple. But Holden has his own crazy personality, and Ackley as well. I read the book a while back... But I do not think I would consider them really stereotypes.
