Compound sentences are those sentences that contain two independent clauses to make a meaningful complete sentence. Even if the sentence are broken into two, both the sentences can stand on its own.

Independent clauses are those clauses that need no addition to be deemed a complete sentence. They are capable of standing on their own.

1. We arrived at the concert early, and we were able to procure the best seats for ourselves.

2. He was a bit late in the start but he won the relay race.

3. You cannot eat hot dogs, nor can you eat anything in this area.

4. We tossed water balloons back and forth, and we also splashed water on each other.

5. We had done our chores in the morning and in the evening we want to go to the movies.

6. The children were hungry, but Mother did not allow them to have snacks before dinner.

What does full employment mean for Americans in the 1950s?
madreJ [45]

Answer:

Full employment is a situation in which everyone who wants a job can have work hours they need on fair wages. Because people switch jobs, full employment involves a positive stable rate of unemployment. An economy with full employment might still have underemployment where part-time workers cannot find jobs appropriate to their skill level. In macroeconomics, full employment is sometimes defined as the level of employment at which there is no cyclical or deficient-demand unemployment.

olga nikolaevna [1]

In the Importance of Being Ernest, Cecily's response when "Ernest" asks is she will marry him is the first one: She says yes because they're already engaged.

"Ernest" actually is surprised to find out that Cecily thinks they are already engaged to be married and not only that, but she reveals that her sustained fascination with "uncle's Jack brother" had moved her to invent a romance between herself and Ernest.

Cecily had created an entire relationship with love letters included (that she herself had written), a ring, a broken engagement, and a reconciliation. All chronically told in her personal diary.
