History

Answer: 1) scientific revolution that preceded industrial revolution and which took place in the European Nortwest (science free of religious dogmatism), 2) progressive rational/empiric philosophy of Enlightenment (economic and consequently also political liberalism), 3) free access to raw materials in colonies (Africa, Americas and Asia).

Explanation: Scientic revolution introduced (not completely but almost completely) a mechanistic and materialistic metaphor of the world....so in the 19th century this perspective became predominant (soon after it was an organicist/Darwinian perspective), Enlightenment questioned divine rights of royal power (medieval and ancient idea) and introduced rights of man and consequently idea of society free of all economic and political limitations and then there were vast lands oveseas that could supply necessary material. What makes part of all that is French revolution, first machines and slavery (which abolished during the 19th century).

What is one effect of the diaspora that can be observed in the world today? plz I need help this is a test.
RUDIKE [14]

Answer: Diaspora impacts on Chinese imports are higher than those found for exports. Coethnic networks play a larger role as long as the partner country does not have a regional trade agreement with the PRC. Sectoral analyses suggest that, among Chinese exports, diaspora effects are strongest for the food sector, as well as machinery and transport equipment.

Which is not an example of ideas from the Scientific Revolution being applied to the social world during the Enlightenment? A. L
solong [7]

Letter B is correct. Oliver Cromwell was indeed a Calvinist protector of the Puritans in England, but he did not command any closure of theaters or Christmas banishment.

Letter A and C: Although John Locke is considered to be the 'father' of the Enlightenment. Empiricist and representative of the Liberal Individualism, he argued that sovereignty should not belong to the State, but to the people.

Although he was the first to propose the government powers separation in England, Charles Montesquieu (one of the most important representatives of the Enlightenment movement in France, along with Voltarie and Rousseau) also proposed that the power should be divided among Executive, Legislative and Judiciary.

Letter D: Benjamin Franklin, inventor, writer, philosopher, diplomat and one of the signatures under the U.S. Declaration of independence, was also fond of the Enlightenment ideals. Known as the greatest diplomat in the history of America, he was as popular as Voltaire in XVIII Century Enlightened France, what made him able to convince the French Monarchy to aid their cause against the Great Britain domain, towards the independence consolidation. Among his many deeds after inaugurating democracy in U.S., he engaged in several community-oriented projects, including the creation of libraries and universities for the population.

What document gave only parliament power to tax?
svet-max [94.6K]
The correct answer is D. The Confirmation of Charters gave parliament the power to tax its citizens. Presumably, these taxes are used to maintain/support the government and infrastructure. Sadly, these funds are often misappropriated due to lack of oversight.
