Answer:

The Civil Rights Act was the law adopted by the United States in 1964, which put an end to the various state systems of racial segregation, known as the Jim Crow Laws, and was enacted on July 2, 1964, establishing a legal framework in the country .

Explanation:

In 1964, the Civil Rights Act was enacted, which ended several state systems of racial segregation. The following year, the Law on the Right to Vote was approved, allowing blacks to vote in elections, regardless of their social, economic or educational status.

Thus, institutionalized segregation in the United States ended. However, even today, blacks and whites live in different situations in relation to access to education, health, good jobs and opportunities, in general.

Why did many factories hire children rather than men
melamori03 [73]

I think it was because Children would listen better, and would have no control over what they were doing int he factory, while men may have put up a fight, and would refuse to listen. Also Children were more easily bribed, and brainwashed than adults

Describe the values of 1950s popular culture and subculture that arose in opposition.
mash [69]

In 1950s, popular cultures spread due to television and print media de-emphasizing women and other minorities. Idealized white people were presented with little (if any) allusion to diversity, poverty or conflicts (such as the Civil Rights Movement). Material values and compliance were things criticized by the counterculture; literature, the Beat movement and music (rock 'n' roll) came into conflict with the "tidy suburban view of life".

Substance use is initially used as a way to gain confidence medicate fears and fit into social groups
vova2212 [387]

It is true that substance use is initially used in order to gain confidence, medicate fears, and fit into social groups. Nowadays, the usage of different substances is being misunderstood by most of the people. They are using it as a part of their daily routine, which may lead to abusing the substances. We must put it in mind that all drugs are poison; it is the dosage that made the difference of the several effects of the drug. It is given that all of the recreational drugs are bad for our health; the problem is the misconception of the people that are depending on those drugs. In order to avoid the side effects of the drugs, the first step is to avoid the temptation of using any substance, because you could gain self-esteem and fit into the set of norms without you trying it. It is up to your own view of life.
