Under the Mongol rule, there was a time of peace. This was called Pax Mongolica. One reason why this was a time of peace was because it made silk trade safer. My teacher once told the class that a merchant can balance gold on top of their heads and reach their destination without any raiders/robbers coming after it.

Not only did it result in safer trading, but the borders of China was secured unlike the previous dynasties which had trouble protecting its borders from outside forces.

Hope this helps!!!

The kingdoms of ____________ and _____________ were the first to sponsor voyages over seas.
zhenek [66]

The kingdoms of Portuguese and the Spanish were the first to sponsor voyages overseas.

A voyage is defined as a lengthy journey, frequently involving flying or sailing.

The Portuguese discovered the Atlantic archipelagos of Madeira and Azores, the coast of West Africa in 1434, and the sea route to India in 1498, which is often regarded as a very remarkable voyage because it established the Portuguese maritime and trade presence in Kerala and the Indian Ocean.

Ferdinand II and Isabella I, the Catholic kings of Aragon, Castile, and Leon in Spain, funded Columbus's transatlantic voyages.
