Answer:

You could write about how with the Jim crow laws, people who weren't white did not have equal opportunities, they did not even have little things like equal water fountains! Many people said it was fair, but in reality it was far from fair. There were signs all over the place like, "Whites only" or "No colored, or Mexicans" So that really went against "All men are created equal"

Hope this helps :)

Summary on the war of the worlds book
xeze [42]

Answer:The War of the Worlds chronicles the events of a Martian invasion as experienced by an unidentified male narrator and his brother. The story begins a few years before the invasion. During the astronomical opposition of 1894, when Mars is closer to Earth than usual, several observatories spot flashes of light on the surface of Mars. The narrator witnesses one of these flashes through a telescope at an observatory in Ottershaw, Surrey, England. He immediately alerts his companion, Ogilvy, “the well-known astronomer.” Ogilvy quickly dismisses the idea that the flashes are an indication of life on Mars. He assures the narrator that “[t]he chances against anything manlike on Mars are a million to one.” The flashes continue unexplained for several nights.

Why does emperor hire the swindlers and how does this contribute to a major theme in the text ?
Ipatiy [6.2K]

In the short tale "Emperor's New Clothes" by Hans Christian Andersen, the Emperor hires the swindlers because he loves wearing fancy clothes and a important procession is around the corner. These two swindlers promised him "the finest, best suit of clothes from a fabric invisible to anyone who is unfit for his position or hopelessly stupid". Since the Emperor's ministers didn't want to admit that they could not see the clothes, they lied to the Emperor. Eventually, the Emperor lied himself too and as a result he went naked to the procession.

The speaker’s tone in "Harlem" is best described as frustrated. conflicted. joyful. accepting.
worty [1.4K]
The speaker's tone in "Harlem" is best described as frustrated.

The poem's imagery helps to convey this tone. In discussing a deferred dream, Hughes describes a dried up raisin in the sun; a festering sore; stinking, rotting meat; and a sagging, heavy load. At the end of the poem, he wonders if the deferred dream just explodes.

This imagery helps provide the key to understanding the speaker's attitude, or tone, about his subject, the deferred dream. He is frustrated that these dreams are wasted.
