Step 1 find the median of thos data set

the middle number is 2

then find the median of the right side of the data that is left that is the 75th percentile
which is 2.25

The 75th percentile is also called the 3rd quartile.

First find the median, since this is an odd number of elements it is simply the middle term (if there are an even number of terms it will be the average of the two middle terms) which in this case is 2.

Now find the median term between 2 and the last term, in this there are an even number of terms so it will be the average of the two middle terms 2 and 2.5, which is:
2.25

What is the slope of the line that goes through the points (7,10) and (3,-3)
PilotLPTM [1.2K]
Ypu would subtract Y from the other points Y
- 3 - 10 =  - 13
Then you would subtract X from the ither points X.
3 - 7 =  - 4
Then you would put the Y value over the X
\frac{ - 13}{ - 4}
Then simiplify
\frac{13}{4}

What is the range of this piecewise function
White raven [17]

Answer as a compound inequality: -4 \le y < 2

Answer in interval notation:  [-4, 2)

=============================================

Explanation:

The range is the set of all possible y outputs of a function. When dealing with a graph like this, we just look at the highest and lowest points to determine which y values are possible.

The lowest point occurs when y = -4. We include this value. So far we have y \ge -4 which is the same as -4 \le y

The upper ceiling for the y value is y = 2. We can't actually reach this value because of the open hole at (-3,2). So we say that y < 2

Combine -4 \le y and y < 2 to get the compound inequality -4 \le y < 2

This says y is between -4 and 2, including -4 but excluding 2.

To convert this to interval notation, we write [-4, 2) where the square bracket says to include the endpoint and the curved parenthesis says to exclude the endpoint.

What is x and y equal in: -2X-y=3 and x+2y=4 (find x and y using elimination)
makvit [3.9K]
-2x-y=3    ...(1)
x+2y=4    ...(2)
multiply (2) by 2 and add to (1)
-2x-y+2x+4y=3+8
3y=11
y=11/3
from (2)
x=4-2y=4-2(11/3)
or x=4-(22/3)
=(12-22)/3=-10/3
