In diabetes mellitus even though the blood sugar levels may be high yet cells of the body do not receive enough glucose. In our body insulin is a peptide hormone which helps in the uptake of excess blood glucose into the cells but in diabetes mellitus this uptake of glucose is restricted. There are two types of diabetes mellitus, diabetes mellitus type 1 and diabetes mellitus type 2. Diabetes mellitus type 1 is an autoimmune disorder in which our immune system destroys the beta cells of pancreas which are responsible for insulin production in our body as a result of which body cells do not receive sufficient amount of glucose. In contrast to this, in diabetes melitus type 2 our body develops insulin resistance due to obesity which is a result of our lifestyle.
Translation will not occur in the cultured cells, because mRNA will be degraded at a greater rate than normal.
The reason of degradation is that scientist mutated the gene in eukaryotic cell which means translation will only occur in eukaryotic cell not in cultured cell.
