Ok so immagine a number line

in the middle is zero
to the left ot zero is negative
to the right of zero is positivee
the farther to the right you are, the bigger you are
the farther to the left you are,the smaller you are

negative means like backwards
so -5 and -17
which would you go farther back?
-5 or -17?
5 steps back or 17 steps back
answer is 17 steps back or -17 steps

it goes farther to the left

answer is -17

-17 lol because it's a negative the "larger" the number is, the less it is on the scale between negatives and positives.

PLEASE ANSWER!!! 2. The table shows a linear function.
mihalych1998 [28]

Answer:

(a) 6

(b) 12

(c) 18

(d) The ratios are all equal.

Step-by-step explanation:

I assume that -5 goes with -11, -4 goes with -5, -3 goes with 1, etc.

(a) Look at the points (0, 19) and (1, 25). The inputs are 0 and 1, so the inputs are 1 unit apart since 1 - 0 = 1. Now look at the outputs. They are 19 and 25, and 25 - 19 = 6. The difference of outputs is 6 for a difference of inputs of 1.

(b) Look at points (0, 19) and (2, 31). The inputs are 2 units apart since 2 - 0 = 2. The outputs are 12 units apart since 31 - 19 = 12.

(c) Look at points (0, 19) and (3, 37). The inputs are 3 units apart since 3 - 0 = 0. The outputs are 18 units apart since 37 - 19 = 18.

(d) In part (a), with inputs 1 unit apart, the ratio of output difference to input difference was 6/1. In part (b), with inputs 2 units apart, the ratio of output difference to input difference was 12/2 which is the same as 6/1. In part (c), with inputs 3 units apart, the ratio of output difference to input difference was 18/3 which is the same as 6/1. The ratios are all equal.

Which of the binomials below is a factor of this trinomial x^2+4x-60
trasher [3.6K]

Suppose x-6 is listed as a possible answer. That is zero if x = 6. So put x=6 into the original x^2 + 4x - 60 to get 6^2 + 4*6 - 60 = 36 + 24 -60 = 0. hence x-6 is a factor.

Answer (x-6)

on this hand :x-5 is not a factor, because plugging x=5 into does not work.

Explain how to use a number line to model the equation -5 +3. Then determine its sum.
neonofarm [45]
Go from +3 on the number like and move to the left 5 times that would put you on the number -2.

Categorize the following variables as being qualitative or quantitative: (relevant section):
FrozenT [24]

Answer:

1. Quantitative

2. Quantitative

3. Qualitative

4. Qualitative

5. Quantitative

Step-by-step explanation:

A variable is quantitative if it assumes numerical values, for example 1,2,3.

If it assumes "labels", for example good or bad, it is qualitative.

1. Rating of the quality of a movie on a 7-point scale

It assumes numerical values, for example, 1,2,3,...

So it is quantitative

2. Age

It assumes numerical values, for example, 1,20,35,...

So it is quantitative

3. Country you were born in

Descriptive, such as Brazil, USA, Colombia, ...

So it is qualitative.

4. Favorite Color

Descriptive, such as black, brown, red, blue

So it is qualitative

5. Time to respond to a question

It assumes numerical values, for example, 1,20,35,...

So it is quantitative
