The second step is the early transmission model of communication where encoding take place. At this stage of communication process, the listener has fully received the information communicated by the speaker. The listener will now decode the information received and convert it into ideas based on the process of communication.
The method of transforming thought into communication is ENCODING. To send the message, the encoder uses a medium which could be a phone call, email, text messages, face to face meetings or other information sharing device.
Though how individual mind encodes information may varies, more so, the encoder should consider any noise that may distract the message being communicated such as texts, interruptions or influences. The audience then interprets the message for themselves. The process of turning communication into thought is decoding.
On the other hand, the transmission model of communication refers to a linear, one-way system where a sender deliberately transmits a message to the receiver. It is a model that has to do with the sender and the message when information is being communicated. Though the receiver is also important in the communicating process, but its role is not seen as part of the ongoing process but regarded as end point or a target.
