The purpose or goal of a presentation defines the content and the audience of a presentation defines the style of your presentation. In other words, the audience and purpose are very important for the form and the style of your presentation. For example, it is important to know the audience in order to decide if your presentation is going to be formal or informal, what they already know in order to know how much detail is necessary for example if the audience is unknown the formal style is more appropriate. Also, the purpose of your presentation can be different for example report (describe characteristics of something), persuasion (to persuade your audience to agree with you), discussion (to present an argument) etc. So each purpose requires different tone, vocabulary and style.

Which statement best explains the metaphor in this excerpt?
attashe74 [19]

Odysseus’s men are compared to caught fish, showing their helplessness statement best explains the metaphor in this excerpt.

"I happened to glance aft at ship and oarsmen

and caught sight of their arms and legs, dangling

high overhead. Voices came down to me

in anguish, calling my name for the last time."

Odysseus is compared as a 'heartless malevolent person'.

"A man who surfs rocky areas in search of bass and mackerel, throws a long rod plumb and bait into the distance, hooks fish, hangs them out of the water, and writhes. Stones are compared to simple tasks that demonstrate his strength." It is wise to know the enemy you are facing.
